The project responds to the complexity and heterogeneity of the program with a unitary and coherent intervention, which combines functions with different requirements and scale, while providing a large open space for the school and the entire neighborhood, in continuity with the spatial identity of the area.
A horizontal public volume along the street serves as a gate to the park and school. It defines the street front, while resolving the difference in height between the road and the ground and protecting the park from the road. This element constitutes a light and permeable filter that contains the sports facility, which ultimately determines the scale of the intervention, and the common functions open to the public.
The school building is defined as a building in the park and hosts kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. A compact and light volume that responds to the surrounding wide open spaces.
The character of the building corresponds to its public function and the spatial identity of the context. The two volumes, which are counterposed in their proportions, are articulated in analogy with the use of the same materials and through the systematic repetition of the elements.
